Exposure visit of Nepal, Simavi, and WAI Partners in Bangladesh 

WAI WASH SDG Programme Bangladesh has hosted a week long exposure visit for a team of Simavi, Netherlands and Nepal WASH SDG Programme from 2-8th February 2019. The Municipality Mayors, Chairpersons of Rural Municipality, WAI partners from Nepal, Director and Programme Manager Simavi, representative of WASTE and RUAF have attended this visit.

The team has explored and learned from community demand creation strategies and observed the process of women enterprise on WASH services. They also visited pipe water supply scheme, public toilets, Faecal sludge management (FSM) plants and understood safely managed pit emptying process through trained pit emptier in Shatkhira.

 

Shatkhira Municipality Mayor, Taskin Ahmed Chisty has conducted a meeting to share their people centric and collective approach of Municipality with community people, CSO groups, and other stakeholders in providing sustainable WASH services for all in Shatkhira.

 

The Country Coordination, Alok Majumder, Director Programme Implementation of Simavi, Esther de Vreede and Nepal representatives have expressed their sincere thanks to all counterparts for a well organised visit in Bangladesh.
